The BF Cafe Story

As it’s been told by the elders, BF Cafe began in a small dwelling tucked against the rocky hills, hidden, unless you knew how to navigate the night stars.

You see, behind the cafe doors, secret stories, artifacts and myths were held close to patron’s hearts. Their stories, artwork and passions were sacred to them because they laughed, cried and found their worth within them.

On any given night, a mix of vaqueros, bullfighters, lucha libres, artists, musicians and other creative minds gathered to share their tales and adventures both mythical and spiritual. They spoke of their ancestors, acknowledging their traditions, and wisdom that had been passed through generations.

It’s not known when or how the original BF Cafe was lost, but one fact did survive, a man named Lorenzo had built the cafe. Not much is known about Lorenzo, except that he smiled and greeted everyone with a light touch on the shoulder, in the cafe.

Today we honor Lorenzo’s legacy with our logo. We like to think the calavera of Lorenzo smiles upon us. We also hope to carry on the spirit of the original cafe through art, story and passion to all who bring a warm heart to the cafe.

Please know we appreciate your participation as a BF (Best Friend) in the BF Cafe.

As sole owner, Pablo Papas looks to revitalize BF Cafe to exhibit animations, artwork and musings to explore and share Latino culture from a personal perspective. Pablo hopes you will enjoy and support Day of the Dead and other cultural art work available in social media sites and in the cafe store. He aims to keep to the site’s original intention of creating a “friendship experience” through cultural creativity and knows with your participation BF Cafe will be a success!
